Born and raised in New York City, Alan is a graduate of the High School of Music & Art and The Cooper Union where he studied painting under Morris Cantor, Robert Gwathmy and George Marsicano among others.
In May 2000, George King of the Georgia O'Keefe Museum in Santa Fe, NM chose his painting
Woman Stressing for the 51st Annual Art of the Northeast Show at Silvermine Galleries. In the Distance, another oil, was chosen the following year for the 52nd Annual Art of the Northeast Show. His work has been selected
three of the last five years for the Annual Art of the Northeast Show.
Alan is a member of the Loft Artists Association and maintains a studio at Canal Street in Stamford, CT.
His paintings can be found in over 40 private collections.
He is currently seeking gallery representation.
